Lunch Meeting: Mindfulness: Stress Reduction and Resiliency
Mindfulness: Stress Reduction and Resiliency
Presenter Tom Hubler
Hubler for Business Families, Inc.
Abstract: Mindfulness is a tool designed to reduce stress and create resiliency in people’s lives. Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally. The primary way mindfulness is created is by focusing one’s attention on his/her breathing. More recently, Amit Sood, M.D. at the Mayo Clinic developed a model that does not stress the traditional form of mindfulness meditation of breathing, but emphasizes the importance of reaching out and connecting to other people in a compassionate empathic way.
Focus (Learning Objectives): Audience/Participants will learn how to create mindfulness through joyful and kind attention and develop an understanding about the five lenses through which to interpret the events of their lives.
